Accessibility statement

We want everyone to be able to plan a journey and read our guides, whatever device, browser or assistive technology they use. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.

What we do

  • A "Skip to content" link, clear headings and landmarks, so screen readers and keyboards can move around quickly.
  • Everything works with a keyboard, with a visible focus outline. Menus and dialogs close with Esc.
  • Page changes, route results and form messages are announced to screen readers.
  • Images have text alternatives; decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
  • Buttons and links are designed to be large enough to tap (around 44 × 44 pixels on mobile), and the layout adapts when text is enlarged.
  • Animations are switched off if you have asked your device to reduce motion.
  • Forms have visible labels and explain errors in words, not only with colour.

Known limitations

  • The interactive route map is provided by Google Maps and is not fully accessible to screen readers. The same route is always listed in text, stop by stop, under the map, and can be opened in the Google Maps app.
  • Travel information on Explore pages comes from Wikivoyage and may not always follow our heading structure.
  • Ads and the cookie-consent message are provided by third parties and may not meet every guideline.
