Joyride AI analyses Google Maps data along your route, then picks well-rated places that match your vibe.
- 1
Set your trip. Choose a start, a destination, a vibe and how you'll travel.
- 2
We find the stops. Highly rated places near your route become waypoints, without big detours.
- 3
Go. Preview, save or share the route, then open it in Google Maps.

What makes a stop worth making?
Not every place on a map deserves a detour. When you plan a route, Joyride AI first asks Google Maps for the most direct path, then picks evenly spaced points along it. Around each point we look for places that match your vibe: parks and gardens for Greener, landmarks, museums and galleries for Sightseer, and cafés, bakeries and restaurants for Gastro.
Quality over quantity
We ignore anything rated below 3.8 stars, then rank what's left by a mix of rating and number of reviews. A café with 4.6 stars from 900 reviews will usually beat one with a perfect 5.0 from eight, because a big sample is more trustworthy.
The right number of stops
Short trips get fewer stops. Journeys under about 1.2 km get one, trips under 5 km get up to two, and longer ones get up to three. We search within roughly 350 m to 1 km of your route, depending on its length.
No silly detours
If adding the stops would make the journey dramatically longer, we drop them and give you the direct route instead, with a note explaining why. The goal is a better journey, not a longer one.
We're looking for writers and walkers
Love to walk, cycle or explore your city? Write for us today
If you love walking, cycling or exploring and know a place well, we'd love to hear from you. You don't need to be a professional writer: tell us about the routes you walk, the family days out, the dog walks or the photo spots you'd recommend to a friend. You walk it and write it; we help with editing, maps and photos, and you're credited with your own author page, like Alberto, May and Victor.
