Frequently asked questions

Is Joyride AI free?

Yes. Joyride AI is free to use. The site is supported by advertising and affiliate links.

Do I need to install an app?

No. Joyride AI runs in your browser, or you can download our app on Google Play.

Which cities does it work in?

Anywhere Google Maps has place data. Results are best in towns and cities with plenty of rated parks, sights and food spots.

How are the stops chosen?

We sample points along your direct route, look for nearby places rated 3.8 stars or higher that match your vibe, and favour places with many reviews. If the stops would create a large detour we keep the direct route.

How many stops will I get?

Up to one stop for trips under about 1.2 km, up to two for trips under 5 km, and up to three for longer journeys.

Why did my route come back without stops?

Either no well-rated places matching your vibe were close to the route, or adding them would have made the journey much longer. In both cases we show the direct route and tell you why.

Do you store my location?

No. Your location is only used in your browser to fill in your starting point. Recent and saved routes are stored on your device by default, and can optionally be synced across devices if you sign in with Google.

Do I need an account to save routes?

No. Saved routes and recent journeys are stored in your browser by default. If you want to back them up and sync them across your phone, tablet and computer, you can optionally sign in with Google and delete your synced data at any time.

Do affiliate links affect the routes?

No. Routes and stops come only from Google Maps data and your choices. We never accept payment to include a place in a route.
